The HandPunch® 50E which is a biometric security device verifies employees' identities in less than one second, based on the unique size and shape of their hands. For small companies, the HandPunch 50E provides a quick return on investment by eliminating the cost associated with administrating and managing cards. For companies that have small, multiple locations, minimal supervision leaves opportunity for buddy punching and time fraud. With the HandPunch 50E one employee can't punch for the other. Two Programmable Data Management Keys could be programmed for IN and OUT entry.

The HandPunch 2000 is a hand scanner and has two user-definable data management keys that let you collect data as employees punch. Common uses include department transfers, tips collected, job codes, or pay codes. Multi-level data entry sequences may be defined.

You can also set the data management keys to allow employees to review their past punches. To reduce keystrokes, the keys can also be set to automatically enter data such as a frequently used department number or in/out status.

The HandPunch 3000 allows supervisors to override user restrictions and to input such items as missed punches, planned vacations, and sick time at the terminal.  The password protected mode provides greater supervisor flexibility by lessening the need for computer edits. Audit trails documenting the use of these functions are generated to ensure security.

Bell Schedules
The bell schedule lets you program the day, time, and duration of a series of bells. The bells can be programmed to signal the beginning or end of a shift, lunch, or break.

Door Control
The HandPunch 3000 provides the capability to unlock and monitor a door. Global time zones may be used to restrict employee access.

Schedules by Employee
Employee schedules may be downloaded to the HandPunch 4000 to restrict the times that an employee can punch. This can reduce unauthorized overtime as well as early “in” punches. A separate schedule can be defined for each employee providing the ultimate in flexibility. Built-in Bar Code Reader Some installations require the use of a badge. For these situations, the HandPunch 4000 includes an integrated bar code reader that can be used for ID number entry. The swipe-type reader supports the most popular bar code formats and allows for infrared badges.

Whether your needs are to network two terminals or thousands, the HandPunch 4000 can be configured to meet your needs. Standard RS-485 communications makes networking terminals easy and reliable. Smart cards look just like any other card, but contain both memory and a processor embedded within the card. Memory is divided into separate sectors that can be protected by individual software codes (keys), so multiple applications can be contained on a single card. Combining a HandReader with a smart card creates a powerful combination of security and portable template management. By employing the card as a storage device, users no longer need worry about complicated network wiring to resolve template distribution.

Operation
Both the users' ID number and biometric template are stored on the smart card and are protected by company specific codes (keys). Users simply put their card into a holster and then place their hand to verify that they are the owner of the card. This convenient holster allows for single hand operation. Upon successful verification, the reader will process the transaction.

Applications include: Access control, time & attendance, automatic fare collection, airline ticketing, electronic purse, loyalty programs, ID cards, university cards, vending machines, pay phones, parking control, prepaid metering, health care, etc.

MIFARE contactless smart card technology
MIFARE is an interface platform for contactless smart cards and readers according to the ISO 14443 A standard. It is a well-proven radio frequency (RF) communication technology for transmitting data between a card and a reader device.
